During the holidays, I like to have ingredients on hand such as apple cider to create a mulled cider with. And I usually have other ingredients leftover that I may not often keep, such as heavy cream. I sometimes have extra fruits and nuts around the kitchen during the holidays, as well, so I look for inventive ways to create something different. I thrive off of opportunities like this; it’s when I feel the most creative.
A 2021 survey conducted by Draper Tools revealed some surprising comments from 18- to 34-year-old respondents. Eighty percent thought gardening was cool, and more than half would rather go to a garden center than a nightclub. Imagine choosing horticulture over a night out!
The Spur Senior Citizens Center, located at 210 Burlington Ave., will be serving a noon meal Monday through Friday. The cost for seniors over 60 is $4; everyone else is always welcome, for $8.
Lupita Castillo, 76, of Spur, Texas, passed away peacefully on December 26, 2021. Born Octob er 15, 1945, she was the sixth child born to Leandro Molina and Epifania Moreno in Ecleto, Texas.
Graveside services for Kenneth “Chip” Stoneman were at 2:00 pm Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at the Spur Memorial Cemetery. Visitation was Wednesday morning from 10:30 to 12:00 noon at the Giles-McCoy Funeral Home in Aspermont.
