At their December 14 quarterly meeting, the Operation Round Up program, which is administered by the Big Country Electric Cooperative (BCEC) Trust Board of Directors, awarded more than $10,000 in grants to local charitable organizations: Roby Lions Club $ 260.00 Aspermont Small Business Development Center/ $1,000.00 Double Mountain Outreach Services Stonewall County Senior Citizens Center $3,000.00 Garza County Trailblazers $3,000.00 Fisher County Child Welfare Board $3,000.00 What is Operation Round Up? The Operation Round Up program is supported by BCEC members whose electric bills are “Rounded Up” to the nearest dollar. The “Round Up” amount goes into the Operation Round Up fund for distribution to individuals and organizations with demonstrated financial need in the counties we serve: Borden, Fisher, Garza, Haskell, Jones, Kent, Mitchell, Nolan, Scurry, Shackelford, Stonewall and Throckmorton. Every penny stays right here at home.
