Nine accused of sex trafficking at center

AUSTIN—Nine employees at a Bastrop County facility that cares for young victims of sex trafficking have been accused of trafficking those same girls, according to the Austin American-Statesman.

Kent commission considers investments, upcoming elections

In its regular meeting of February 28, 2022, the Kent County commissioners’ court handled a variety of business matters. Judge Jim C. White reported that Clearway, managers of the new solar energy project, would be sending a new agreement for the court to review. A 1 p.m. conference call was also scheduled with Wind Energy Transmission of Texas (WETT) manager Dan Allred to discuss remedies for damage done to a county road.

Two propositions on constitutional amendment ballot May 7

AUSTIN — Texas Deputy Secretary of State Joe Esparza has drawn the ballot order for the two proposed amendments to the Texas Constitution that will appear on the ballot for the May 7, 2022 Election. In order to appear on the ballot, the proposed amendments must be approved by at least twothirds of the members of both the Texas Senate and the Texas House of Representatives.

Spur council hears firehouse proposal, citizen requests in March
