Erminia “Minnie” Montemayor, 1978–2023

Erminia“Minnie”Montemayor died peacefully on April 17, 2023, in Lubbock, Texas,attheageof44.

MinniewasbornonSeptember 19, 1978, in Lubbock, Texas, to Rita Tijerina Villatoro. She attended Spur High School. She welcomed one daughter, Victoria Ward, into her life. Victoria remembers her as a kind and loving mother who encouraged and supported her in all her endeavors. She remembers her as someone who always had a smile on her face and never knew a single stranger. She was the kind of mother who was always willing to help others out.

Minnie is survived by her stepfather, Benjamin Villatoro of Spur, Texas; child, Victoria Ward of Spur, Texas; and siblings, Martha Childers of Crosbyton, Texas, and Marcos Montemayor of Lubbock, Texas.

She is preceded in death by Rita Tijerina Villatoro, Cecil Montemayor and other loved ones.

She was a loving and caring individual who was passionate about being around her family, singing karaoke, playing bunco, and sewing. She was an active member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and volunteered at the Spur Senior Citizens Center.

A memorial service is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Saturday April 22, 2023, at Spur High School Auditorium under the direction of Zapata Funeral Home.
