Jimmy Wayne Powell, 1954–2021

SPUR—Jimmy Wayne Powell, 66, of Spur, Texas, passed away peacefully on February 26, 2021. Jimmy was born on November 15, 1954, in Matador, Texas, to Jesse Joe and Ella Bertha (Farris) Powell. Jimmy was a 1973 graduate of Spur High School.

He was a graphic designer and loved to cook for family and friends.

He is survived by his mother, Bertha Powell of Spur; sisters Ella Jo Sisk-Richey and husband Wayne of Idalou, Texas; and Mary Ruth Wessels and husband Dennis of Belen, New Mexico; his good friend David Hindman, who took excellent care of him during his brief illness; his Uncle John Farris and wife Sue of Dalhart, Texas; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jesse Joe Powell;brother Jesse Loy Powell; and grandparents John and Mary Farris and Jess and Ruthie Powell.

The family would like to thank Texas Home Health Hospice for their loving care that they provided to Jim during the past couple of months.
