Nancy Shaw 1937–2020

Nancy completed her journey home to be with the Lord on July 1, 2020, at age 82. She was born in Pasadena, California, on August 8, 1937, to Douglas and Ruth Zediker.

She married for the first time at a very young age and had three children—two girls and a boy. Later she had another son.

She then married Carl Gene Shaw on July 13, 1977. At this time, she gained a third daughter. They were married for 45 years. They retired to Dickens, Texas, where they became members of Dickens First Baptist Church.

“Mom” played the piano for the church for many years. She also loved food, cooking, yardwork, crochet, and caring for others.

She was an incredible woman with a fun and electrifying personality. She loved her family, in-laws, and friends with all her heart and soul.

She was preceded in death by both parents, a son, her husband, and her only brother.

She is survived by her three daughters, Kathy Jones, Winnie Darnell, Jerry Sue Bailey, and son Douglas Billingsley. She also has 10 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

A viewing was held at Zapata Funeral Home in Spur, Texas, on Monday, July 6, 2020 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, July 7, 2020, at Dickens First Baptist Church in Dickens, Texas, at 2 p.m. with interment following at the Dickens Cemetery.
