The family of Nonnie Mack Lauderdale celebrated his life of 82 years at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 21, 2022 at the Espuela Cemetery in Dickens County. He passed at home on Sunday, May 15, 2022, after a 14-year battle with cancer. On May 9, 1940, Nonnie Mack Lauderdale was born to Nonnie and Alva Brown Lauderdale in Sweetwater, Texas. He was taken home to the family’s Bandy Ranch in Kent County, Texas, which remained his most loved home and destination throughout his lifetime.

He was lovingly known as Mack, Nonnie Mack, Pistol, Macksy, Poppa, Grandpa, and G-Mack.

Mack attended school in Jayton, Texas. He played all sports there and graduated from JHS in 1958. He was vicepresident of the senior class and sditor of the 1958 Jaybird Annual, FFA officer 1, 2, 3, and in Junior and Senior Plays.

Mack was a rancher and builder of car engines for circle track racing, where he was a tech supervisor; drag racing; and street performance in Lubbock. He was a machinist for several machine shops in Lubbock, working at Farris Equipment for many years. He was a member of Lone Star Cowboy Church.

Mack and Colette Collett, former classmates at Jayton High School, were married in 1993. They traveled extensively—to the Bandy Ranch. His thoughts on traveling were, “When you can go to the ranch, why go anywhere else?”

Mack’s survivors include his wife, Colette; daughters Dena Lauderdale (Rodney) and Melissa Kiefer (Juan); Colette’s children Stacy Bannister (Mike) and Stephen Davis (Robyn); grandchildren John Wardroup, Brittany Williams (Jason), Kort ney Kiefer, Blake Kiefer, Nicolette Baxter (Gray), Shea Keller (Collin), Karley Bradford (Jake), Matthew Davis, Mallory Jeffreys (Landon), and Jacob Davis; great-grandchildren Lincoln, Finn, Amelia, Olivia, Callan, River, and “on the way” Violet and Eloise; and nephewin-Love Bobby Joe Putman (Janice).

Pallbearers were John Wardroup, Blake Kiefer, Matthew Davis, Jacob Davis, Gray Baxter, Jake Bradford, Landon Suski and Bobby Joe Putman.

Honorary pallbearers were Alton Jones, Bobby Norvell, Edwin Jackson, Truman Murdoch, Bobby Duboise and Nelson Brent.

He is preceded in death by his father, Nonnie Lauderdale, and his mother, Alva Lauderdale.
