Paula Dean Crausbay, 1941–2022

Paula Dean Foreman Crausbay, 80, of Sweetwater, Texas, passed away on March 21, 2022 at Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital. Paula was born on August 6, 1941 at Spur, Texas, to Murle and Ruth Foreman. She was raised on a farm in Dickens County. She married Neal Crausbay on January 29, 1959 in Cleburne, Texas. Her two sons were raised in Lubbock, Texas, before the family moved to Sweetwater in 1974, where her husband was the bookkeeper at Sweetwater Cot ton Oil Mill while she worked at the cotton compresses.

She was a member of Spur High School and graduated in 1959 from Spur.

Paula was especially fond of her life membership in Beta Sigma Phi sorority, in which she rarely missed a Monday night meeting in over 40 years.

She was survived by her husband, Neal Crausbay; a son, Jerry Crausbay, of Dallas, Texas; an older sister, Merla Watson, of Spur, Texas; and a younger brother, James Robert Foreman, and wife, Carol, of Galveston, Texas; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother; her oldest son, Ronald Crausbay; and two brothers, John David Foreman and Mike Foreman.

There will be a family visitation on Thursday, March 24, 2022 from 5 until 6 p.m.

A private interment will occur at a later date.
