Don Childress

Don Childress, 84, widower and beloved father, was called to his eternal resting place on Feb. 4, 2019 to be reunited with wife, JoAnn, and son Donnie. Don was affectionately known to his family and friends as Dad, Paw-Paw and Chili. Chili entered this world on Jan. 3, 1935 in Red Mud, Texas, born to Curtis Crump and Gladys Irene Childress. Chili was a U.S. Army veteran and a true Texas cowboy. Chili is survived by his son, Curtis G Childress, granddaughters Lindsey Shavers and Carlee Childress, grandsons Bryan Mc-Cann and Landon Gorbet, and several great-grandkids.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 8, 2019 at the First Baptist Church of Spur, followed by interment at Spur Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Zapata Funeral Home.
