Geeneta McAllister 1926-201

Geeneta McAllister, 92, went to be with her Lord and Savior on March 29, 2019 in Crosbyton, Texas.

She was born June 9, 1926 in Spur to Bill and Marie Dement. She married JW McAllister Dec. 30, 1947. He died Nov. 26, 1996. They had two children: Andy McAllister, born March 24, 1953, and Nancy Stone, born Nov. 22, 1954.

Geeneta loved the Lord and her family and adored her grandchildren. Her uplifting personality made her a “social butterfly.” Later in life she discovered she loved to dance and never missed the opportunity to do so at surrounding senior centers. She owned and operated the Texaco in Dickens, Texas for several years. She proudly served Dickens County for 11 years as Justice of the Peace.

She is survived by: son, Andy McAllister, and Barbara; daughter, Nancy Stone; grandson, Kelly McAllister (Kamie); two great-grandchildren, Keygan Lowe and Berklee McAllister. She also had three grandchildren: Daryl McAllister, Jenni Anderson and Sabrina Barnes; eight great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; four sisters, Patsy Ruth Lee, Rita Brendle (Kenneth), Janice Kearney (Mike) and Rosa Jones; and one brother, Douglas Ivan Dement.

She is preceded in death by: sister Mazelle Hammock; three brothers, Hardy Dement, Billy Ray Dement and Dewey Lynn Dement; and her beautiful granddaughter Stephanie Stone.

Services were held Monday, April 1, 2019 at the Spur Memorial Cemetery Chapel with Eddie Lee officiating under the direction of Zapata Funeral Home.
