Gloria Ann (Gwinn) Lee, 1932–2021
Gloria Ann (Gwinn) Lee was born to Ola Mae and Richard Andrew Gwinn on May 3, 1932. She passed from this life on Saturday, June 5, 2021.
Gloria was married to her husband, Alvis Ray Lee, on September 11, 1952. Gloria was married to her beloved husband for sixty years before his passing in March of 2013.
Gloria Lee was preceded in death by her husband, Alvis Lee; two brothers, Howard and Edwin Gwinn; one sister, Dorothy Bailey; and one granddaughter, Brianna Lee.
Gloria is survived by her three sons and daughters-inlove, Mike and Becky Lee of San Angelo; Terry and Shannon Lee of Mansfield; and Jeffrey and Jana Lee of Amarillo; granddaughter Amy Wood and husband Michael; granddaughter Melissa Watson and husband Zack; dranddaughter Raegan Lee; grandson Grayson Lee; granddaughter Bethany Lee; grandson Andrew Lee; grandson Aaron Lee; five great-grandchildren, Mason Wood, Austin Wood, Lauren Wood, Karleigh Watson and Brynlee Watson; and her two furry family members, Lucky Dog and Scooter Cat.
Gloria Lee lived out the scriptures before her children from their early beginnings. Proverbs 22:6 says, “Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not turn from it.” Gloria did just that, times three with her three sons, Mike, Terry and Jeffrey.
Gloria loved her sons, but also loved her three daughters-in-love very much, accepting all three as if they were the daughters she never had. She also prided herself in her grandchildren and great-grandbabies.
Gloria Lee worked outside the home until retirement from Dickens Electric Cooperative after 26 years of faithful service. Following retirement, Gloria enjoyed her hobbies even more, including painting artwork, sewing, quilting, gardening, and cooking for family and friends.
Gloria Lee will be dearly missed, but so much of her handiwork will remain for generations to come.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, June 15, 2021, at 2:30 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Spur. The graveside service will follow at the Spur Memorial Cemetery, with Rory Mosley and Richard Harbison officiating. Services are conducted by Zapata Funeral Home of Spur.
