Odessa (Talley) Dunham, 1932–2021

Odessa (Talley) Dunham was born October 13, 1932 in Pushmataha County, Oklahoma, to Leonard J. Talley and Lola E. (McKinley) Talley.

She passed away peacefully August 11, 2021 at Kent County Nursing Home in Jayton, Texas.

Odessa married Elbridge H. (Levi) Dunham December 23, 1950 in Paris, Texas. They moved to Borger, Texas, on February, 1951 and to Sanford, Texas in 1956. They were blessed with two children, Glenda and Michael.

Odessa operated the Sanford School cafateria for many years and Dunham Western Wear in Fritch, Texas, after that. She was a member of Sanford Baptist Church and later Afton Baptist Church.

Odessa and Levi had lived on the farm in Afton, Texas, since 1989, before becoming residents of Kent County Nursing Home in 2018.

Odessa was preceded in death by her parents, L. J. and Lola E. Talley; her husband, E. H. Dunham, February 2020 after 69 years of marriage; and also brothers Allen Talley and Alvin Talley and sisters Ruth Winkle, Hazel Church, Ramona Webb and Leona McArthur. Special nephew Donald J. Talley and special brother-in-law Gene Holloway.

She is survived by daughter Glenda K. Locker and her daughter Camille Locker of Odessa, Texas; son Dr. Michael Dunham and wife Dr. Judith Dunham of Snyder, Texas; granddaughters Erin Dunham and great-grandsons Casen and Colt, Dr. Andra Gregory and husband Travis; greatgrandchildren John, Sarah and Adam, all of Snyder; sister Eunice Holloway and her five daughters; many nephews and nieces; brother-in-law Buddy Dunham; and sister-in-law Lona Anderson.

A graveside service was held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, August 14, 2021 at Afton Cemetery in Afton, Texas. Arrangements are under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home in Snyder, Texas.
