Vera Crafton Newton, 1934–2022

WAXAHACHIE—Vera Crafton Newton went to be with her Heavenly Father on Saturday, June 18, 2022, at the home of her son in Waxahachie, Texas.

Vera was born on August 8, 1934 to her parents, Oscar and Willie Crafton of Spur, Texas. She graduated from Spur High School and attended Draughon’s Business College in Lubbock.

Preceding her in death are her parents, Oscar and Willie Crafton; brothers Billy, Dale and Marvin Crafton; and sister Effie Allison. She is survived by her son, Michael Fleaher and wife Donna of Waxahachie; two grandchildren, Mychal Caitlin Fleaher of Waxahachie and Cade Holden Fleaher, a 2021 graduate of West Point as Second Lieutenant in the 101st Airborne U.S. Army; greatgrandchildren Mychala and Brent; sisters Betty Kilpatrick of Lubbock and Pat Young of Nashville, Arkansas; numerous nieces and nephews; and her dear friend Carolyn Cloud of Lubbock.
