Georgia Arlene Jordan, d. 2023
LUBBOCK—Georgia Arlene Jordan, “My Sunshine,” 79, of Lubbock, passed away from her earthly home on January 10, 2023. Arlene was the daughter of Marion and Eunice Jordan of Spur, Texas. She graduated in 1961 from Spur High School, where she was in band and choir, and was a majorette. She attended West Texas State. Arlene had an opportunity to train at the American Airlines Stewardess College in Fort Worth, where she became an international flight attendant retiring after 39 years. She married her sweetheart, Curtis Hawley, in Maui, Hawaii, one of her favorite trip destinations.
Arlene and Curt traveled extensively in their motor home for 17 years, rode motorcycles, and enjoyed their life on the lake. She enjoyed playing bridge, walking on the beach, dancing, and working daily crossword puzzles.
Arlene was a Methodist and was very strong in her faith. She would always sign the crossword puzzle page with a note to Curt that said, “God, I trust you.”
Arlene is survived by her husband, Curtis Hawley; her sister, Joan (Tommy) Green; stepdaughters, Holley (Tim) Howat and Heather (Pete) Hawley; her grandson, Spencer Howat; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; many friends, classmates, fellow flight attendants; and the many friends she made on the RV trips, especially on the trips to South Padre Island and Ruidoso.
