Jackie Eugene Conaway, 1961–2024

Jackie Eugene Conaway, 63, of Spur, Texas passed away June 6, 2024, in Spur.

Jackie was born on January 13, 1961, to Donald Joe Conaway, Sr., and Joann Conaway in Arrington, Texas. He attended and graduated from Patton Springs ISD.

Jackie worked as a tool pusher and an oil driller overseas for the oil field industry. He enjoyed listening to country and western music, spending time with his horses, hunting and fishing, and also helping people in a time of need.

Jackie is survived by his brother, Donald Joe Conaway of Yantis, Texas, and a host of family and friends.

Jackie is preceded in death by his parents; Donald Joe, Sr., and Joann Conaway; brother James Conaway; grandparents T.L. and Maude Conaway; and great-grandparents T.J. and Mary (Sis) Conaway, all of Dickens, Texas.

A visitation was held Tuesday June 11, 2024 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Zapata Funeral Home Chapel in Spur, Texas. Graveside services were held Wednesday June 12, 2024, at 10 a.m. at the Dickens Cemetery in Dickens, Texas, officiated by Keemy Mackey under the direction of Zapata Funeral Home.
