A midweek Fourth varies dates for 2018 area celebrations

DICKENS COUNTY

The Dickens Volunteer Fire Department’s Annual Patriotic Celebration will be on Wednesday, July 4. It will begin at 2 p.m. with a bounce house and water games for the kids. The parade will be at 6 p.m. and then there will be a fajita supper fundraiser at 7 p.m. on the south side of the Dickens Courthouse. Cost of the meal will be any donation to the Fire Department. Fireworks will get underway on the south side of the courthouse at dusk.

Dyess AFB visits Jayton to discuss expanding B-1B Lancer flight training, leasing land for exercises

Members of Dyess Air Force Base and representatives of the Snyder Electronic Scoring Site (ESS) came to Jayton on Tuesday, June 12, 2018, as part of a public outreach tour to each city in the B-1B Lancer Military Operating Area (MOA), which includes Lamesa, Gail, Snyder, Roby, Jayton, Aspermont, Tahoka and Post.

Array of fun events in Spur set for June 22-23

An array of enjoyable attractions should entertain visitors in Spur on the weekend of June 22-23, 2018. In addition to tours, contests and shopping, live music will be available throughout the day in the park.

Events for the public kick off Saturday morning with the Tiny House Tour of Homes, featuring eight houses around Spur.
