My granddaughters are soon to be home for summer. With only a dance recital on June 3 and a commuter basketball camp, the girls are set for some carefree time with their parents. One more round of swimming lessons, and they will be good to go for pool time. If all goes as planned, their Aunt Julie will welcome them to North Carolina in July.
The City of Spur has met three times in recent weeks, with the news coming in an April 23 called meeting that city secretary Ashley Carothers, who has been employed at city hall for six and a half years in two different capacities, will be leaving due to family and personal reasons. The city issued a note of thanks to Carothers on social media and has begun the search for a successor.
