Leslie James Hurst went home to Jesus on December 22, 2020, after first overcoming numerous challenges such as heart and lung problems, kidney disease, aneurysms, COVID, and other conditions which would have defeated younger, strong men years ago. Even now, Leslie’s passing was not a violent defeat of his life, but a completion of his life here and a return to his real home.
SPUR—Johnnie Lee Carlisle, 91, of Spur, Texas, passed away on Monday, December 7, 2020, in Lubbock, Texas. She was born August 28, 1929, in Bomarton, Texas, to Johnny and Mary Lee Johnson.
SPUR—Shirley Whitefield was born on January 12, 1946, to parents Elmer and Ethel Long of Girard, Texas. She was the youngest of three children; older sister Bernice Watson resides in Jayton, Texas, and brother James Long of Girard preceded her in death.
Faye Garner, our wonderful mother, passed away November 27, 2020, to begin her heavenly life. A memorial service to honor her will be held at a later date.
LUBBOCK—Vernon Dale Crafton, 82, of Lubbock, Texas, passed away Saturday, November 21, 2020. A private funeral service for his family will be held under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home.
LUBBOCK—Jo Ann Pirtle Harrison, 89, formerly of Spur, went to meet her maker on November 21, 2020. She was born in Anton, Texas, on March 20, 1931, to J.B. “Doc” and Veo Pirtle. Her grandparents, Dr. Jenkins Pirtle and his wife, nurse Beulah Pirtle, presided over the birth.
JAYTON—It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Robert E. Hall. He died on Thursday, November 19, 2020 at Covenant Hospital in Lubbock, Texas, after complications of a severe stroke. Robert was 73 years old.
