Long before the town that now bears the name “Roaring Springs” was established, Indians camped near the free-flowing spring situated just below the caprock northwest of Blanco Canyon. Then as now the spring was a popular gathering spot, as evidenced by old grinding holes still present in the surrounding rocks.
