Hasselback Chicken with Wedge Salad a quick weeknight dinner

I remember a time when we primarily purchased “whole” chickens to cook. I can picture my mom at the kitchen counter with her favorite sharp knife cutting the bird into the various pieces. Unless a recipe called for deboning a chicken after it’s cooked, we only ate our chicken “on-the-bone,” and with the skin intact, I might add.

Winter freeze protection

The coldest temperatures in the Northern Hemisphere occur in February. With a few weeks until the official start of spring, why are the coldest temperatures happening now? The Old Farmer’s Almanac tells us it is because the Earth’s orbit around the Sun has a 23.5-degree tilt, which results in shorter days and weaker light. SPURETTES CLAIM DISTRICT BASKETBALL TITLE

SPUR—The 2020–21 Spurettes had just edged into the District 1 coaches’ poll—tied for #25—when they took on the #10 Guthrie Lady Jags Friday night at the Dog Domes. But after an unpromising first half Spur came back reinvigorated to dominate Guthrie 36-25. “I’m proud of these girls—they played their hearts out, said Spurettes head coach David Castollon after the team assembled on center court for the district trophy presentation. “It’s a big win on Senior Night.” The Spurettes, along with the Lady Jags and the Jayton Lady Jays, will advance to the first round of playoffs this week.
