Gardens this time of year are looking pitiful—the once-lush foliage is turning brown, leaves are dropping, vegetables have ceased producing, and flowering crops are withering. But even with the sad state of our gardens, there is plenty of potential stored in many crops and flowers. As we begin to clean up summer gardens for the fall, this is a time to consider saving seeds for next season’s gardens.
