Spur Senior Citizens

The Spur Senior Citizens Center, located at 210 Burlington Ave., will be serving a noon meal Monday through Friday. The dining room is open, or if you feel more comfortable during the Covid-19 pandemic, we are offering a curbside lunch you can reserve by calling (806) 271-4472. A donation is always appreciated. The cost for seniors over 60 is $4; everyone else is always welcome, for $8.

Spur Little League teams assigned for 2022 season

Spur Little League baseball has been organizing for its spring and summer season, with full game schedules soon to be set. The season will kick off with a T-ball game on Monday, March 28. There are no set fundraisers as of yet, organizers said.

Dormant oils

This is time of year to protect woody ornamentals and fruit trees from insect pests by spraying the trees with horticultural oil. There are two kinds of horticultural oils. Summer or foliar oils are used on plants when foliage is present; or dormant oils, for when tissue is dormant.

‘Third Saturday’ to feature 15+ vendors this Saturday in Swenson Park

Floydada’s Boston Terrier Museum featured on ‘Texas Bucket List’

“Everyone’s got a soft spot for a man’s best friend, and while this museum focuses a bit more on the Boston Terrier, the owner sure does have a lot of love for all pooches,” wrote host Shane McAuliffe of the Emmy Award–winning TV series “Texas Bucket List” following a recent visit to film at one of Floydada’s (and maybe the nation’s) quirkiest destinations, the Boston Terrier Museum in Floydada, Texas.
