The Kent County Lions Club, which has built a reputation for strong community support in one of the state’s least-populous counties, presented a one-of-a-kind quilt to the lucky raffle winner at its October 25 luncheon meeting.
HISTORIC WELCOME The Lady Jaybirds of Jayton qualified for XC State for the first time in the school's history, and hometown fans were waiting to welcome them back from the Regional meet in Lubbock Monday evening.
With temperatures expected to dip into the thirties Friday night, bundled-up Spur Bulldogs fans barely had time to wrap up in their blankets before the hometown team had punched three touchdowns into the end zone.
ON TO REGIONAL The Spur varsity girls cross country team advanced as a team, taking first place overall at district last week in Spur. They will compete Monday, Oct. 25 at Regional in Lubbock.
