The Spur Junior High Bullpups won against the Motley County Junior High Mavericks September 10 by a score of 51-33. Margarito Pesina had a big game, scoring multiple times.
The following Spur high school girls finished 2nd as a team in last week’s meet at Guthrie, with individual placements as follows: Bucki Smith—3rd medalist; Tristen Martin—8th medalist; Paige Gonzalez—13th ; Mallory Leary—20th ; Allee Hamilton—21st; Savanah Olivarez—27th; Macye Maben—29th; Alyssa Fulmer—31st.
Due to a home scheduling conflict for opponent Wilson, the Jayton Jaybirds wound up hosting the Mustangs for their third straight game. In response, the Jayton junior class took the initiative and opened their concession stand with new and refreshing items for spectators. Unfortunately, the game would not turn out to be as satisfying for the Mustangs, as they fell to Jayton 58–0.
Friday night the Jayton Jaybirds, coached by Josh Stanaland, will host the Valley Patriots, coached by John Stanaland. The identical last name’s no coincidence.
The powerful one-two combo of Cory Hamilton and Le’Zhane Walker stunned the Meadow Broncos 65–20 before a hometown crowd in Spur at Jones Stadium in the Bulldogs’ home opener Thursday night.
