JAYTON BEATS SPUR The Jayton Jaybirds boys’ varsity basketball team returned to their winning ways this week, defeating the Spur Bulldogs 42–24 last Tuesday.
The Spur Bulldog boys’ varsity basketball team lost a close game last Tuesday on the road at Guthrie by a score of 56–54. The Bulldogs rebounded Friday night with a win over Patton Springs 44–41 and brought their district standings to 2–2. They are tied for third place. Last Monday, Jan. 18, the Texas Girls Coaches Association released their weekly poll, and the Guthrie Lady Jaguars were ranked number four in 1A in the state.
Friday night was no ordinary Friday night in Jayton. The 8th-in-the-state ranked Jayton Jaybirds boys’ basketball team was hosting the #10 in state Paducah Dragons.
The Gamma Eta Chapter of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society International held its first meeting of 2021 on January 11 by Zoom. Twelve members joined the online meeting.
