The Rangers, however, would fight back with an answer from sophomore Michael Garza (#20) on a 40-yard return from an attempted onside from the Bobcats. The Bobcats would come back with three quick hitters after that, racking a score up of 27–6 in the 2nd. With a big hole to make up, the Rangers refused to back down as they were led by senior Juan Salas (#2) for an incredible 80-yard kickoff return late in the 2nd. Both teams would continue to fight throughout the night. However, the Bobcats would prove their strength in speed and numbers and finished off the Rangers early in the 3rd with a final score of 67–19.
