In the wake of a flooded floor in mid-April caused by a stopped-up drain line, the City of Spur contracted with a flooring specialist that has replaced old, peeling linoleum tiles with a new epoxy-flake flooring throughout the building. Poured Out Custom Coatings, the Lubbock-based contractor, even created an inlay design of the City of Spur logo in the vestibule. According to city secretary Ashley Carothers, the city will began accepting reservations for events again July 11. Only a few cosmetic touches, such as new baseboards, remain to be completed, Carothers said.
