Jayton council to update drought plan; seeks nominations to fill Edwards’ term

On Monday, May 10, 2022, the city council of the City of Jayton met for a monthly meeting. Mayor George Chisum call the meeting to order at 6:08 p.m. All members of the board were present with the exception of Belle Branham. Jake Edwards was not present, following his resignation from the board due to a move.

IN TURKEY In last Saturday’s Bob Wills Day BBQ Cook Off in Turkey, Texas, Spur cook Reid Arnold’s Out on a Limb BBQ team took 1st place in Brisket, racking up a total of 472.98 points to finish 9th in the overall competition. Amy Tanner of Spur-based Happy BBQ took second place in barbecue turkey, with 163.32 points.
