Abbott to lay out ‘re-opening’ strategy this week for Texas

Wind energy scholarship program makes progress, waiting on COVID-19 outcomes

Kent, Stonewall and Fisher counties are overseeing a program to award 15 tuition-free scholarships to study wind energy and to learn the operational skills needed to bring wind farms online in partnership with BayWa r.e., a German-based renewable energy company and Texas State Technical College, Sweetwater.

SPUR IN NY Spur native Diana Saucedo, a nurse, is part of a team on the Covid-19 front line in New York. A graduate of Spur High School and Tarleton State, Saucedo was formerly a nurse at the Crosbyton Clinic Hospital and now lives in Fernley, Nevada. Serving as part of an 11-week team of nurses assisting in New York, she arrived there earlier this week and snapped this photo of the George Washington Bridge. She noted how empty the streets were.
