Historic bricks salvaged for Spur’s new firehouse represent all five stages of the Spur fire department’s past headquarters, from the city’s first firehouse, on West Harris Street (currently occupied by Star Feed & Seed), to the old city power plant, to bricks saved from the Godfrey Chevrolet building, which was demolished to make way for the new station going up on Burlington Avenue.
