Loose animals have posed a variety of problems for Spur residents in the past, and this week a pack of unrestrained large dogs attacked a group of fenced pet pigs, killing some, according to the pigs’ owner, Gerlinda Dennis.
“We had a lot of community members coming in and talking at the library,” said librarian Joy Williams. “And gardening books were getting a lot of circulation.”
Spur and Dickens County weren’t exactly unfamiliar places to James Robinson back in 2009 when he applied to the local Lawrence Brothers IGA grocery store, but picking up stakes and moving fulltime from the Metroplex was still something of a culture shock.
