Scott Bicknell, currently superintendent at Muenster Independent School District in north Texas, has been named the sole finalist for the superintendent’s position for Jayton-Girard Independent School District, according to Interim Superintendent Johnny Tubb. JGISD has held a series of called meetings to select their sole finalist, Tubb said, in which the board of trustees interviewed six candidates. The JGISD board interviewed three candidates on January 24 and three candidates on January 25. Then on February 1, the board had a called meeting and named Bicknell the sole finalist. He is now in a 21-day waiting period, and the board expects to have a called meeting on February 23 to officially name Bicknell the new superintendent.
