DICKENS STOCK SHOW 2024 At the annual Dickens County Junior Livestock Show Jan. 19–20, 92 animals in six species earned ribbons and other recognition, raising a total of $48,600 from the Exhibitor Sale held on Saturday afternoon. A total of 65 youngsters from Dickens County 4-H and FFA showed 172 animals, according to Dickens County AgriLife Extension Agent Amanda Spvia, who organized the show. “Stock Show Royalty” were King, Preston Abbott, and Queen, Mackenzie Gardner; Prince, Porter Abbott, and Princess, Paisley Smith. All of these exhibitors work hard throughout the school year to raise and care for their animals, and learn livestock-related skills. Scores of parents and family members, 4-H and FFA leaders, and community supporters make this showcase event possible each year.
