VARSITY GIRLS The Spurettes lost to 1A #9 Valley 29–44 in the Valley tournament last week after beating 3A Highland Park 41–39, 1A McLean 47–36 and 1A Follett 46–35. They finished up 3–1 for the tournament.

NEW YEAR, NEW HOBBY College on the Square in downtown Snyder, a service of Western Texas College, presents “Learning to Paint with Acrylics,” on January 11 and 25 from 6 to 8 p.m. This is a six-class series and other sessions are February 8 and 22 and March 8 and 22.
