Members of the Spur ISD school board got a sneak preview February 24 of new culinary arts fixtures acquired and installed as part of a rural education grant. The grant also provided some updated equipment for the wood shop. Kitchen appliances included two sixburner gas range/ovens and vent hood that replaced older electric models.

At the monthly meeting of the Dickens County Commissioners, the court approved an inter-local agreement with the City of Spur, Spur Independent School District, Dickens County, City of Dickens and Patton Springs ISD regarding in-trust properties. Charlie Mor ris made the motion to adopt the agreement. Jerry Alexander seconded the motion, which passed 4-1 with Mike Smith voting against.
The Kent County commissioners’ court met in regular session Monday, Feb. 10, 2020, at the courthouse in Jayton. Present were commissioners Roy Chisum, Don Graham, and Daryl Ham, and Don Long, along with county judge Jim C. White and county clerk Craig Harrison.
Mayor David Warren called the Dickens City Council meeting to order at 5:01 p.m. Thursday, February 13, 2020. Council member Jesus Zarate was absent from the proceedings.
