With a 26-8 record and a bi-district gold ball under their belts, the Spur girls basketball team fought hard to win the next gold ball at last Thursday's area game.

Tristen Martin from Spur High School will spend a week in Washington, D.C., thanks to South Plains Electric Cooperative. Through the Government-in-Action Youth Tour, an annual program sponsored by electric cooperatives nationwide, Martin will join about 100 fellow Texans for this trip of a lifetime June 12–21, 2022.
PLAYOFF UPDATE The Patton Springs Lady Rangers lost to Lorenzo in basketball playoffs last Tuesday night, 48–39, in Slaton. 2022 was an exciting year for the Lady Rangers, capped off with earning a berth in the playoffs.
SEASON ENDER The #11 Jayton Lady Jays fell to the #10 Borden County Lady Coyotes in the area playoff game Thursday night 47–35 at Lubbock Cooper. The Lady Jays finished the year 20–3 for the season, were undefeated in district 10–0, and won the District 5-1A crown, defeating Crosbyton 53–20 to win a bi-district championship.
Tonya Kelsey has worked for Cap Rock Telephone Cooperative, Inc. since October 21, 1985. After holding a variety of positions over the years, according to a company press release, she retired recently following a total of 36 years of service.
