FORT WORTH—Spur High School senior Tristen Martin competed in the Business Professionals of America 2022 State Leadership Conference in Fort Worth March 2-5, 2022, winning fifth place in the Presentation Management Individual event after advancing from preliminary rounds and advancing to finals.

GOLD BALL GAME The Jayton Jaybirds boys’ varsity basketball team defeated the Garden City Bearkats 53–42 Friday night in Colorado City in the Area playoff game. The Jaybirds (21–3) advanced to the Regional Quarterfinals, where they faced the Klondike Cougars (17–12) at Frenship High School in Wolfforth, near Lubbock on Tuesday, March 1.
