GOLD BALL GAME The Jayton Jaybirds boys’ varsity basketball team defeated the Garden City Bearkats 53–42 Friday night in Colorado City in the Area playoff game. The Jaybirds (21–3) advanced to the Regional Quarterfinals, where they faced the Klondike Cougars (17–12) at Frenship High School in Wolfforth, near Lubbock on Tuesday, March 1.

After trailing the Lorenzo Hornets for most of the bidistrict playoff game in Post last Tuesday night, the Spur Bulldogs rallied in the fourth quarter and almost brought home a gold ball.

SPUR DEBATE TO STATE Congratulations to Spur CX Debate students. They are headed to state. In the competition earlier this month, Juan Molina and Allee Hamilton won 2nd place and are state qualifiers. Also, Anna Garza and Chelsea Davis finished in 5th place.
SPUR AG MECHANICS HONORS Representing Spur FFA, Jeffrey Mathews and Dusty Hancock won their division at the the Agricultural Mechanics Division competition in San Antonio last week, bringing home the blue ribbon for their grinder tool.
