LAST SWIM SATURDAY The Jayton Pool closed for the season Saturday. Meet the Jaybirds and Lady Jays was celebrated at the pool and stadium on Thursday, with JGISD students enjoying one last swim this year.

Area teachers head back to school; Jayton students start Aug. 12

School has already started for area teachers and administrators. Much of this week at area schools will be devoted to staff training. However, JGISD classes get under way Thursday, Aug. 12.

Last week they took to Twitter to say, “Our first road has been carved out.
