Dickens 4-H finishes community service by helping at Ronald McDonald House

Throughout this last year Dickens County 4-H members have participated in over 30 community service projects either with the club or on their own, and benefitted 26 different agencies and spent spent well over 500 hours. They finished up their 23-24 Community Service year with their annual trip to the Ronald McDonald House taking 35 POUNDS of soda can tabs to be donated. Diezel and Jet Ramirez, spearheadedadonationcampaignat Patton Springs School and collected over 15 pounds for the donation. It takes approximates 1,128 tabs to make a pound!

Beckton's shuts down Dickens eatery July 15

According to a post July 14 on its Facebook page, Beckton’s Chophouse and Tavern planned to “close down for a bit: following a final meal Sunday, July 15. “Due to our hectic schedules outside of Becktons,” the post noted, “we have decided to shown down indefinitely. Stay tuned to our Facebook page for updates. All the Best, Jason and Becky”.
