“What facility can the current Swimming Pool Fund be used on” was the question posed by Spur’s mayor and city council on the evening of February 18 at a specially called Town Hall forum. Although city, citizens, and friends have accumulated $48,232 (plus an additional $2,928 held by the Spur Area Chamber of Commerce) since 2018 to repair or replace the 85-year-old recreation complex, estimates for any plan have far exceeded that figure, and a bond election failed in fall 2019.
