Public invited to discuss Spur swimming pool Feb. 18

Following months of efforts to arrive at a workable plan for a swimming pool, the city of Spur plans to host a Town Hall on Tuesday, Feb. 18 at the Spur Community Center, to discuss options. Citizens and friends have worked to raise funds through a variety of means since the historic pool in Swenson Park became inoperable in 2009.

The library has two books from the Wings of Fire series by Tui T. Sutherland in the large print format. “The Dragonet Prophecy” and “The Lost Heir” are the first two books in this young adult fantasy series.

Tickets available for Feb. 15 Valentine’s event from Chamber members, Texas Spur

Ticket sales have been brisk for the “Give a Little Love” Valentine’s banquet and dance scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 15 at 6 p.m. at the Swenson Park Show Barn. The event is presented by the Spur Area Chamber of Commerce, which has tickets for sale at $25 per person for dinner and dance, or $15 for dance only, starting at 8 p.m. and ending at midnight.
