Cory Hamilton, Gunnir Bateman, Le’Zhane Walker and Craig Leary competed Saturday in Austin at the State Track Meet. The Bulldogs boys 4x200 relay finished 5th, and they finished 4th in the sprint relay.

LAST BULLDOG RUN Jorden Zarate gets ready for his last run as a Spur Bulldog at the State Track Meet Saturday in Austin. Zarate has competed in track since the 6th grade, and iin addition to winning numerous meets, he has been a medalist at two State track meets.

Ten area athletes—from Jayton, Spur and Patton Springs— will travel to Austin for the State Track Meet later this week. The 1A competition gets under way early Saturday morning at the Mike A. Myers Soccer and Track Stadium on the campus of the University of Texas at Austin.
PROM TIME If it’s May, it’s prom time across Texas Spur Country. Spur’s evening event was held Saturday night, and many prom-goers and families gathered early in Rickels Park for photos. Madison Givens, Austin Fulmer, Alyssa Fulmer and Pedro Tobalina stopped traffic with their elegant attire on Burlington in downtown Spur.
