DICKENS CLEANUP Dickens County 4-H members helped over the weekend by cleaning up litter from area highways, just one of many ways they make a difference in the community.
BIG EVENT’S BACK After a year’s hiatus due to the pandemic, Jayton’s annual May 1 cleanup day, “The Big Event,” was back last week as JGISD students, faculty and staff volunteered to help with community projects across their town and county.

Spur and Jayton will advance track athletes to the State competition in Austin May 6–8. The two 1A schools competed among 31 peers across West Texas and the Panhandle in the Regional Track Meet at South Plains College in Levelland Friday and Saturday.
KENT 4-H Camryn Arnold competed in the virtual District 3 4-H Fashion Storyboard contest. The theme this year was "Reinventing Fashion with History." Camryn placed 1st in the Junior Accessory division.
The Spur boys track team continued their winning ways for 2021 by capturing the Area championship and advancing 10 competitors to the Regional Meet, slated for next week in Levelland at South Plains College.
Congrats to the Spurettes on their Area track championship won last week in Post. All 14 girls that participated at area, qualified for regionals in an event. Below are the Spurette Regional Qualifiers
