TOURNAMENT WINNERS The Jayton Jaybirds won the Robert Hall Motors Tournament last week, defeating Valley 53-22.

4-H FOOD WINNERS Dickens County 4-H recently competed in the district Food Challenge contest. Taking part in the event were Melania Ramirez, Diezel Ramirez, Kyle Schledwitz, Kinsely Chandler, Ryanne Boyd, Paisley Smith, Maddee Foster, Grayson James, Khloee Segura, Kylee Molina, Rylee Foster, Addison Fulmer, Kimberlee Segura, Erin McGalliard, Kylie Wieser, Kimberly Pafford and Keylee Hobbs.

• On Monday, Dec. 2, a jury in Miami ruled in a civil case between Australian Craig Wright and the family of his deceased business partner, David Kleiman. Wright won the case cementing him as the elusive inventor of Bitcoin. The suit claimed that half of initially mined bitcoin worth $54 billion rightfully belonged to the estate of Kleiman. Wright was ordered to pay $100 million in damages for breach of intellectual property, but ultimately won his case. Although the court acknowledged Wright as the inventor of Bitcoin—pseudonym Satoshi Nakamoto—Wright himself has yet to prove that he is who he says he is. Many in the online community are doubtful of Wright’s claims and insist that Bitcoin can only successfully operate in a world where the identity of Nakamoto remains a mystery.
