Spur artist Vicki Glass Diggs completes the first of a series of murals on the Fifth Street side of the Spur Hardware building. “It was a natural canvas,” Diggs said of the series of stuccoed-over window openings. Jeromy Rutledge of Spur Hardware said that looking back to when he and his wife, D’Laine, were involved in commissioning a history mural for the Spur–Dickens County Museum, they felt the walls of the hardware store would be a great place to show off local art.
