The 97th Annual Motley- Dickens Counties Old Settlers Reunion and Rodeo, August 27, 28 and 29, 2020, in Roaring Springs, has something for everyone this year.
“There is no wrong emotion to feel in these times,” Guthrie CSD superintendent Jodie Reel told the sixty or so secondary students gathered for a Tuesday morning private assembly at the school. “It’s okay to cry, or even laugh.”
Donors have contributed more than $100,000 to add the Spur Ranch Church as the 52nd structure in the 19-acre historic park of the National Ranching Heritage Center (NRHC) at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, according to a press release from the organization this week.
“In keeping with JGISD’s practices to respond to CO-VID-19, we are notifying all families that a student who was infected off campus is lab-confirmed to have CO-VID-19, and was present on campus 8/13/20,” read a letter to parents and guardians August 18 from JGISD principal Lyle Lackey and obtained by The Texas Spur.
