Our community lost an icon with the passing of Joe Harrison. The Texas Spur did an excellent tribute to Mr. Harrison. He will be missed. He and his wife, Jo Ann, were both avid readers. They were among the founders of the Dickens County Spur Library. They both served on the library board from the very beginning and were very active until for health reasons they could no longer serve. When they had to move for health reasons, they donated some of their vast personal library to us. We have received memorial donations for Joe Harrison by Darleen Fletcher and Nancy Hale. The library also received a memorial donation to honor the memory of Debbie Daughtry from Nancy Hale.
