Many people have honed their banana bread baking skills over the last year. I have seen post after post about all kinds of other breads, as well, while folks have been spending more time at home.
Tender, lush shoots of young vegetables and flowers are making their way up out of the ground about now. As much as the gardener enjoys this anticipated time of year, so also do pests that somehow survived our deep February freeze enjoy the tender spring growth.

Over the past six weeks, the City of Jayton has lost a mayor, a mayor pro tem, and a city works technician and has taken steps in a series of three council meetings to address each of these sea changes, all while still recovering from the aftermath of a damaging mid- February winter storm.
